The ID.BUZZ has a standard front seat center airbag, which deploys between the driver and front passenger, protecting them from injuries caused by striking each other in serious side impacts. The Q6 e-tron doesn’t offer front seat center airbags.

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The ID.BUZZ has standard Maneuver Braking that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The Q6 e-tron doesn’t offer automatic braking for stationary objects directly to the rear.

Both the ID.BUZZ and the Q6 e-tron have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and available around view monitors.

The Volkswagen ID.BUZZ weighs 571 to 1215 pounds more than the Audi Q6 e-tron. The NHTSA advises that heavier vehicles are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

Volkswagen pays for scheduled maintenance on the ID.BUZZ for 2 years and 20,000 miles. Volkswagen will pay for cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance. Audi only pays for the first scheduled maintenance visit on the Q6 e-tron.

There are over 2 times as many Volkswagen dealers as there are Audi dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the ID.BUZZ’s warranty.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2025 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Volkswagen vehicles are better in initial quality than Audi vehicles. With 44 fewer problems per 100 vehicles, JD Power ranks Volkswagen higher than Audi.

For better stopping power the ID.BUZZ’s front brake rotors are larger than those on the Q6 e-tron:

For better traction and acceleration, the ID.BUZZ has larger rear tires than the Q6 e-tron (265/45R20 vs. 255/55R19).

The ID.BUZZ’s 235/50R20 front and 265/45R20 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 50 series front and 45 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Q6 e-tron Ultra’s standard 65 series front and 60 series rear tires.

For better load carrying, ride, handling and brake cooling the ID.BUZZ has standard 20-inch wheels. Smaller 18-inch wheels are standard on the Q6 e-tron Ultra.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the ID.BUZZ’s wheelbase is 13.8 inches longer than on the Q6 e-tron (127.5 inches vs. 113.7 inches).

For better maneuverability, the ID.BUZZ’s turning circle is 2.3 feet tighter than the Q6 e-tron’s (37.4 feet vs. 39.7 feet).

The design of the Volkswagen ID.BUZZ amounts to more than styling. The ID.BUZZ has an aerodynamic coefficient of drag of .29 Cd. That is lower than the Q6 e-tron (.32 to .33) and many sports cars. A more efficient exterior helps keep the interior quieter and helps the ID.BUZZ get better fuel mileage.

The ID.BUZZ offers optional seating for 7 passengers; the Q6 e-tron can only carry 5.

The ID.BUZZ has 2.1 inches more front headroom, .4 inches more front shoulder room, 2.6 inches more rear headroom, 2.5 inches more rear legroom and 4.9 inches more rear shoulder room than the Q6 e-tron.

For enhanced passenger comfort on long trips the ID.BUZZ’s middle and third row seats recline. The Q6 e-tron’s rear seats don’t recline.

The ID.BUZZ’s cargo area provides more volume than the Q6 e-tron.

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the Q6 e-tron, the ID.BUZZ has standard driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The ID.BUZZ’s standard sliding doors can be opened with less than three inches side clearance. The Q6 e-tron’s standard rear swing-out doors are bulky and make loading in tight spots difficult.

The ID.BUZZ’s power side sliding doors make it much easier to load and unload kids and cargo. One touch opens the door, before you even get to the van. The Q6 e-tron doesn’t offer a power rear door.

The ID.BUZZ has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the vehicle heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the Q6 e-tron.

The ID.BUZZ has a 115-volt a/c outlet on the rear seat, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The Q6 e-tron doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.

The ID.BUZZ was chosen as a Car and Driver’s “Top Ten” for 2025. The Q6 e-tron has never been chosen by Car and Driver in their “10Best” issue.
